I picked two Christmas CDs this year, just from the little snippets one can hear on the internet. Its 50/50. This was the good one. :) I would recommend this recording to anyone. You can see the names of the songs, so I am vouching for the mood and tone. Quiet is a subjective term I would just say all the songs are handled with love.
I was not familiar with this artist (not that knowlegeable), but apparently Ms. Adair plays with a trio. You can almost hear the soloist depart the trio as the album progresses. I will look for other recordings, surely.
I really like the selections. I think my Mom, who made Christmas special for eveyone (she was a "Jeannette", one who discovered many pianists and was unhappy when Mr. Cole started singing :)) would have loved this album.
Ms. Adair has just the most exquisite touch. I guess this is a Steinway, but I wish I could give her a Bechstein for Christmas in very partial recompense.

I love Christmas music and have WAY too many holiday CDs. But this Beegie CD is wonderful and a MUST HAVE. If you have her other Christmas CD like I do, this has all new stuff. Though a couple of the titles may be the same, they are new renditions. Youll love it for playing in the background will you work or relax!

I originally heard this music while shopping in a pleasant childrens stre in Spring Lake, New Jersey. I inquired from the proprietor as to who the artis(s) were and she told me she had some of Beegie Adairs CDs for sale. She got a stock of them after many similar inquiries. I have now purchased all of her CDs including this lovely Christmas album.

Unlike much Christmas music that hits you over the head with Holiday Cheer, this music pulls you back to your younger years when Christmas was not so commercial. Good for any age it just flat out puts you in the mood for the holidays. A tree, Kids and Pets, loved ones and the comfort and warmth of GOOD christmas music.
I LOVE IT.
