"Winterlude" is yet another in the "Winterlude" Christmas CD series (specifically, Volume 8) that offers a thoughtful, musical Noel. This CD consists of a mix of traditional carols, both religious and secular.
Regency Music again demonstrates that a musical offering need not be vocal to be pleasant. "Winterlude" is a good way to relax after a day of tree-trimming, frolicking in the snow, or shopping, and is right at home whether youre visiting with friends or alone with your thoughts.
The performers include: Alan Steinberger, Bruce Martin, Bill Altvater and John Arnn (keyboards) John Darnall (guitar) and Eric Darken (percussion).
Like the other CDs in the series, "Winterlude" blends equally well with a mug of hot cocoa, a warm blanket, a fire in the fireplace, and a light snowfall viewed from a frosted window. Also, as with the other offerings in this series, this CD is relatively short (just under 34 minutes), but the choice of carols is more important than the number of carols.
Note: this CD is out of print, so it may be difficult to obtain. Yet it is a good way to round out the "Winterlude" series and really reflect on the Christmas season. Therefore, I recommend it as part of your Christmas music collection.

The music on this album serves as the perfect counterpoint to the craziness of the Christmas season. Each selection is an introspective gem. You can listen to it all day long and never tire of it. My favorite is track #7, it has one of the nicest piano arrangements I have ever heard.

Im currently on my third copy of WINTERLUDE and it continues to be a favorite -- the instrumentals make lovely background music. I especially like to listen to it in my car...its very calming and relaxing.
I think of it as wintertime music, not just Christmas time. It is a joy to listen to, and I may go after the rest of the series John Darnall has made.
Isnt it all about a peaceful time of year?

This CD is absolutely terrific. It is one of my top 3 Christmas music collections (the newest addition being Yo-yo Ma & Friends Songs of Joy & Peace!)
You will never regret purchasing this lovely music. Calm, clear, classic - thanks to its creators for many enjoyed replays!!

I absolutely love this CD. I kind of "stumbled" upon this while Christmas shopping about 10 years ago. I love this one so much I had it played as quiet music before my wedding (which was obviously in December). If you like quiet/meditation music for the holidays or it works very well for background music at a Christmas party, I highly recommend this CD.
